New Mendelssohn House

The highlight of the extended museum: The
Since 3 February 2014, the new, extended Mendelssohn House is open in Leipzig with a completely new floor. It’s the world’s only Mendelssohn museum. New interactive features include an audio-video library, a so-called "Effektorium" and a rotating paternoster cabinet.

The year 2014 will see the 25th anniversary of the Peaceful Revolution. The highlight will be a Festival of Lights on 9 October 2014. All year round, visitors can follow in the traces of the historical events and visit authentic sites like the Stasi museum.

Ethihad Regional - operated by Darwin Airline already connects Leipzig/Halle Airport with Paris and Amsterdam - and from 30 March 2014 with Zurich. Starting from April 2014, Vueling will serve a new direct flight from Barcelona to Leipzig. Flights can be booked in travel agencies or online.
