Festival Lortzing 26

On the occasion of the 225th birthday and 175th anniversary of Albert Lortzing's death, the LORTZING 26 festival is taking place in Leipzig. Opening of new city harbor

Once completed, the city harbor will become the heart of the tourist waterway network. Wave-Gotik-Treffen

The Wave-Gotik-Treffen (WGT) has fascinated thousands of fans of the "Gothic scene" from all over the world since 1992. During the four days of the festival, visitors are offered concerts as well as a wide range of parties, performances, exhibitions and medieval markets. A highlight of the WGT is the Victorian picnic in Clara Zetkin Park.

Bach Festival Leipzig

With the Bach Festival, the city of Leipzig honors the important St. Thomas Cantor, Johann Sebastian Bach, every June. In doing so, it continues a tradition of Bach's cultivation that was already established by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. Renowned performers from around the world can be experienced in over 100 events over ten days, including the THOMANERCHOR LEIPZIG (St. Thomas Choir of Leipzig) and the GewandhausorchesterIn 2026, the Leipzig Bach Festival's motto will be "In Dialogue" – inspired by the unique polyphony of Bach's music. Over eleven festive days, visitors will experience a musical exchange of the highest caliber – between artists, works, eras, and, of course, with the audience.

Leipzig Wine Festival

The wine festival will once again invite visitors to sample and linger at the market in 2025. Winemakers from various wine-growing regions of Germany, as well as from Austria, Hungary, and Italy, will offer their wines and sparkling wines. Con Spirito - The Leipzig Chamber Music Festival

The 6th season of CON SPIRITO will take place from September 12 to 20, 2026, under the title “Tacheles – Jewish Tunes of the Leipzig Romantics.”

As part of the chamber music series, concerts will take place in the historic homes and places of work of those composers who had a decisive influence on Leipzig's musical tradition.
