Terms of Use for the Digital Photo Archive
Here you will find a selection of over 100 motifs from Leipzig and the region. The photos shown are the property of the respective photographers. Reproduction of the photo archive or significant parts of it - even in the form of link lists - is not permitted. We have designed the photo archive to be very user-friendly, so that you have several options for finding the motif you are looking for.
You can search the photo archive within many categories. While "Attractions" shows the typical sights of Leipzig, you can also find unusual motifs under "Details and City Views". Are you still missing a winter photo for your editorial article? You can find suitable photos to download in the relevant category. Or use the search function: To do this, please click on "All categories" and then enter the search term.
You can view the photo in two ways: as a preview image or as a detailed version. If you click on a photo, you will see the detailed image view. From here you can "download" the photo and save it. Under the i symbol in the detailed view, you will find the photo credits in the photo description. You can also download the photo from the preview image using the download symbol on the image. Under the preview image and after the download, you will see the title of the photo, which also contains the photo credits.
All images can be used free of charge for private and editorial purposes in connection with tourist reporting on Leipzig. This also applies to the presentation within editorial online articles. The prerequisite for this is that the photographer is named, see next point.
Furthermore, all tour operators can use the images free of charge for printing in travel catalogues as part of the promotion of trips to Leipzig and the region. This also applies to the presentation of the travel catalogue as a PDF file on the Internet. In the latter case, however, it must be ensured that the photographer's name appears in the image, next to the image, under the image or as a mouse-over.
The use of the photos on social networks such as Facebook or Pinterest is not permitted unless the photographers agree to the use in writing. Please ask them directly if necessary.
The image user is obliged to provide the source of the image in accordance with Section 13 of the German Copyright Act. The condition for the royalty-free use of the images from the digital photo archive is that the photographer's name is printed in full when published, e.g. "Michael Bader". It is not permitted to specify a collective source when printing multiple images, e.g. "LTM" or "City of Leipzig". Furthermore, the individual images must be able to be assigned to the respective photographer. However, special agreements are possible after consultation with the press office of LTM GmbH. Contact: presse@ltm-leipzig.de.
The royalty-free use of the photos in commercial publishing products or other publications for resale purposes is not permitted, as LTM GmbH does not have the rights to pass the photos on to third parties for commercial purposes. This includes, among other things, the presentation in travel guides, DVDs, CD-ROMs, calendars, posters, displays, postcards, souvenirs, advertisements, compositions, image brochures, etc. If you wish to use the photos commercially, you can request and acquire the usage rights from the image authors.
All images contained in the photo archive are available for download as reproducible jpg files (300 dpi) in high resolution. In individual cases, individual post-processing of the images provided as raw material may be necessary. Restoration (retouching) and other changes may only be carried out with the consent of LTM GmbH.
For every printed publication, a copy with the published image material must be made available to LTM GmbH, without being asked to do so and free of charge, in accordance with Section 25 of the Law on Publishing Rights of June 19, 1901 (RGBI., p. 217). Local print media are exempt from this requirement. The document can also be sent as a PDF file (max. 8 MB file size), via Wetransfer or as a link for download: presse@ltm-leipzig.de.
In the event of a violation, LTM GmbH or the photographers affected can demand that the user withdraws all of their products containing the images at their own expense and either corrects them or stops distributing them entirely. In addition, LTM GmbH or the photographers affected reserve the right to claim damages. In the event of non-agreed commercial use of the photos, the image authors or image rights holders are entitled to additional fees based on the usual market rates for image usage rights. Information on image fees is available from the Mittelstandsgemeinschaft Foto-Marketing (MFM).
