Leipzig-Elbe cycle route

The most famous cycle path in Germany is the Elbe Cycle Path. The connection between the city of Leipzig and the popular Elbe Cycle Path is via the lesser-known Leipzig-Elbe cycle route. Along the family-friendly route Village and rural idyll alternate here. Wide fields and river meadows dominate the picture.

A highlight of the route is the Bergkirche Beucha, which are directly connected to a heart-shaped lake and is a great place for a rest. The Dahlener Heide with extensive meadows, forests and quiet ponds. Numerous windmills, old castles and village churches worth seeing line the path, which runs mainly on quiet country roads. The cycle path is crossed by the Parthe-Mulde cycle route, Neuseenland cycle route and the Mulde cycle path, which also makes it possible to explore various circular routes.
