Just like the other restaurants in this series, the Ratskeller It was built in 1904 on the foundations of the old Pleißenburg built and in New Town Hall opened. Finally open to the public again since March 2025: The traditional restaurant Zum Arabischen Coffe Baum. It is the Leipzig's oldest coffee house and is even considered one of the oldest continuously operating coffeehouses in all of Europe. Coffee has been served here since 1711. Over the centuries, the establishment has been a popular meeting place for numerous celebrities such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Robert Schumann, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, and Napoleon – a living testament to Leipzig's hospitality.

Today, the Coffe Baum offers a combination of café, restaurant, and museum on three floors. Guests can stylishly restored rooms such as the Kaisersaal, the Schumann-Zimmer or the Wiener Café, you can enjoy regional specialties – including Leipziger Allerlei, beef roulade or the typical Gose beer.
