The most unusual bars in Leipzig

IMPERII Bar

Are you a fan of experimental drinks? Then book a table at IMPERII Bar in Leipzig! Located at the crossroads of what were once the most important trade routes, the "Via Imperii" & "Via Regia", this venue on Leipzig's Brühl boulevard opened in 2015 with a new style of Leipzig joie de vivre. You can look forward to exceptional drinks and a selection of spirits from all over the world. Alternatively, you can try new interpretations of all but forgotten drinks from the reserve list. Be it signature creations from renowned barkeeper André Pintz or classic yet modern drinks, the IMPERII-Bar is where local meets global and indulgence is the order of the day.

Our tip: check out both the IMPERII bar and the restaurant during your visit.

You can, of course, order à la carte, but we recommend getting some personalised recommendations. Inspired by traditional German cuisine, the IMPERII team will delight you with a melting pot of modern dishes – both regional and seasonal! Do you take the view that a tasty drink should be accompanied by a good cigar? Then head on over to the Smoker's Lounge, where you can enjoy cigars in a relaxed atmosphere and have the perfect drink recommended to you – Guatemala above the clouds, in the heart of Leipzig.

The IMPERII Bar is the perfect place to escape the stresses of everyday life and concentrate on what really matters in a refreshing, unique, modern and experimental setting with no dress code.

Beyerhaus

Beyerhaus is the perfect place to meet in the south of Leipzig! Alongside various craft beers, cocktails and other drinks, Beyerhaus offers culinary delights ranging from snacks to full meals. In the historic rooms, you can relax with a group of friends or challenge them to a round of billiards.

The unique feature of Beyerhaus has got to be the spectacular chandeliers that light up the big hall. What's more, you can get comfortable in the bar or at the sturdy tables in the historic cellar vault.

A memorable evening is guaranteed, as a range of cool events are regularly held here, ranging from poetry slams to book readings and plays. Sometimes there is even live music or a party. We particularly recommend the cosy outdoor seating in the courtyard, where you can spend a relaxing evening with friends under the light of the colourful lanterns.

Meine Top Tipps dazu

Cáo

Have you always wanted to see your own cocktail on the menu? A trip to Cáo in the east of Leipzig will definitely take you one step closer to making that a reality!

Cáo is a bar and restaurant rolled into one. In addition to a large selection of popular cocktails and intriguing signature drinks, it offers a variety of delicious, lovingly prepared Asian and Vietnamese delicacies. Our favourite is the bao buns. These steamed dumplings resembling a bread roll are filled with meat, vegetables and much more. The end result is like a sandwich but tastes miles better than the classic variety. So good!

Let's now get back to the signature drinks we mentioned. Cáo offers a drinks menu unlike any other in Leipzig. If you like, you can ask the barkeepers to create your very own cocktail. They will serve you a drink tailored to your tastes that you certainly won't be able to find anywhere on the menu. And the best thing is that with a little luck, your cocktail will turn out so good that it'll end up on the next drinks menu with your name next to it. How cool is that?

When? Monday to Thursday from 5:30 pm until 10 pm, Friday to Sunday from 5:30 pm until 11 pm

Vodkaria

What was it that Goethe said? "No pleasure is temporary because the impression it leaves is lasting." The impression the VODKARIA leaves behind is purely positive! You will have a hard time choosing between the exquisite varieties of vodka from all over the world, each more delicious than the last. And as if that weren't enough, you can enjoy superb house vodkas. The cocktail creations mixed with love are also not to be missed.

However, if you want to have a good few drinks, you will also need something to eat. Luckily, the food here is a real treat for the palate. From smoked salmon with fried egg to fennel pasta and rump steak, there is truly something for everyone. The alternating weekly menu makes for a high standard of culinary variety, just as you would expect from a "pub" with ambition, as the VODKARIA likes to call itself.

So, head down to the VODKARIA and join the night owls and revellers who know this is the place to chill out. Chat until the night turns into morning as the sun rises. At the VODKARIA , there will always be a friendly welcome and a wonderful feel-good atmosphere!
