DOK Leipzig - The big festival of documentary films
DOK Leipzig
DOK LEIPZIG has been one of the leading international festivals for documentaries and animated films for more than 60 years and is unique in its combination of these two fields. Every year, the festival attracts around 48,000 visitors from all over the world to the city's cinemas. More than 300 films from 60 countries present the audience with new insights and perspectives. The Festival is not only an important platform for directors to present their films to the public for the first time, but it is also a major public festival that promotes debates on cinematic art and politics.
For several years now, DOK Leipzig has been staging free film screenings in the East Hall of Leipzig Central Station. The festival will also be presenting the latest developments in interactive storytelling to a broad audience. At the interactive exhibition DOK Neuland, visitors can try out different VR formats, web documentaries, games or apps.
During the Festival Week, the international film industry also meets at DOK Industry to develop new films and bring them to market.
