The largest professional orchestra in the world

In addition to the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, the Leipzig Opera and the famous St. Thomas Boys Choir are additional venues for the Gewandhaus Orchestra. The orchestra is known for its outstanding musical quality, famous conductors and the numerous tours and guest performances from all over the world.

The Gewandhaus Orchestra is one of the world's leading symphony orchestras and is also the oldest orchestra founded by the bourgeois in the German-speaking world.
