Leipzig School and special exhibitions
The Art Hall is located in one of the oldest Sparkasse locations in Leipzig. It was given its 352 m² exhibition area, directly on the banks of the Pleißemühlgraben, in the 1924 extension of the facility. This is a special place among the numerous Leipzig art institutions thanks to its rotating exhibitions. It has been providing an exclusive view of the diversity and uniqueness of the so-called "Leipzig School" since 2001.
The collection of the Sparkasse Leipzig, which was established in 1993, is now the most extensive of its kind with approximately 2,500 exhibits in the fields of painting, graphic art, photography, ceramics and sculpture. Numerous events, including concerts, readings and lectures, complement the exhibition concept and invite artistic exchanges.
