Tin Figure Museum in the Dölitz Gatehouse (exhibition of historic tin figures)

The Dölitz Gatehouse is one of the biggest and most important tin figure museums in Germany. Here, you can learn everything there is to know about tin figures, from their production and design to engraving, their casting, painting and diorama building. A permanent exhibition of cultural-historical pewter figures and numerous valuable exhibits can be found over three floors. The focus of the exhibition presents the Napoleonic era and the Battle of Nations of 1813 near Leipzig. The show-piece of the gatehouse is made up by the approx. 25 m² historical diorama of the Battle of the Nations at Leipzig. Rounding off the entire exhibition are the ever-changing temporary exhibitions and the museum shop, where you can buy tin figurines and antique books on all topics relating to tin figurines, the Battle of the Nations and the liberation wars.
