Concert series in Brandis | Donat organ

The Donat organ in the Brandis town church was built in 1705, making it the oldest surviving organ with two manuals in the Free State of Saxony. After the first restoration phase was completed in 2007, it is now regaining its original, spacious facade shape. The disposition of the instrument is also being returned to its original state, so that this important monument of Saxon organ building can once again shine in all its glory.

Concert series in Störmthal | Hildebrandt organ

In connection with the extension of the Störmthal church around 1720, Zacharias Hildebrandt, a master student of Gottfried Silbermann, was commissioned to install a new organ. With it, he created a masterpiece that was tested and praised beyond measure by Johann Sebastian Bach in his first year of service in Leipzig in the autumn of 1723. In 2008, the organ was completely restored and largely returned to its original condition.

Concert series in Pomßen | Renaissance organ in the fortified church

The fortified church, which dates back to the 13th century, is home to one of Saxony's oldest organs. Built in 1671 by Gottfried Richter from Döbeln, it was reconstructed in 2006 by the Wegschneider organ workshop from Dresden. This instrument can be used to authentically reproduce organ works from the Renaissance and early Baroque periods.

Concert series in Zschortau | Scheibe organ

Scheibe's last organ built stands and towers in Zschortau - inspected and approved by Bach himself in 1746. At the same time, it is the only one of his organs that is still preserved and functioning. In order to preserve this treasure, the instrument must be played regularly. The organ therefore resounds every first Thursday of the month - revealing sound and effect and providing space and time for music from all over the world.

Kreutzbach Organ Days

Since the 150th anniversary of Urban Kreutzbach's death on August 22, 2018, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Borna has held annual Kreutzbach Organ Days at the end of August. The quality of Kreutzbach's instruments was already appreciated during his lifetime and should now be raised more widely again. He is also known as Borna's "Silverman".
