After the Christmas stress and New Year's Eve hustle and bustle, enjoyment finally arrives in Leipzig's west in January: From January 7th to 25th, the beer garden of the Plagwitz Felsenkeller transforms into the 1st Plagwitz Naschmarkt – a new culinary winter market away from the usual mainstream.
You can expect a warming selection of mulled wine from local vintners, winter cocktails, and regional delicacies from the grill, as well as international street food, including dishes from Africa, Tunisia, and Japan. The offerings are complemented by regional specialties such as Wagyu salami, East German street food, fried pastries, and Mutzen (a type of German doughnut), along with a diverse selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes.
A diverse cultural program complements the culinary offerings: singer-songwriters, small choirs, and a cozy stage provide musical highlights. A small fairytale cinema is available for children. The full program will be published shortly.
To keep things exciting, the Naschmarkt offers weekly changing specialties and promotions – perfect for anyone who wants something new after the holiday season or simply can't get enough of winter coziness.
