We're celebrating our 5th anniversary as a cultural station and everything that goes with it: the music, the construction site, and the people. Above all, we want to tell our stories and hear your stories! There will be guided tours, photo exhibitions, and film screenings that will showcase how far we've come in these 5 crazy years. 13 PM | THE BAHNHOFSBAND (DE, IL, IR)
When the team at Leisnig train station isn't renovating a window, insulating a wall, or hanging a new door, they're pursuing their greatest passion: making music together! The quartet plays music from all over the world. From Swedish polskas and French mazurkas to Bulgarian dances and klezmer, they're all represented. And, of course, there's always room to dance.
17 PM | HEPTA POLKA
Hepta Polka represents folk music from various regions of Europe; their powerful arrangements sparkle with joie de vivre and virtuosity. Hepta Polka takes up and reinterprets folkloric traditions, danceable rhythms, and heartwarming melodies from various corners of our continent, drawing inspiration from which their own pieces emerge.
The eight guys are studying across Germany and Denmark and are active as freelance musicians in classical, jazz, pop, and folk music. Hepta Polka has performed numerous concerts, primarily in northern Germany and Northern Europe. They often provide wild parties in clubs and at festivals, but they also thrill their audiences in classical concert halls, such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. Folk music workshops and folk dance parties are also part of Hepta Polka's repertoire.
