Goethe times, bad times
Weimar Cabaret Ensemble at »Fridays at Crostigall«
Peace reigns supreme...? Not a chance! The Weimar cabaret is anything but quiet: Here, you'll be slapping your thighs with laughter to Faust I and Faust II. Bernard Liebermann and Thierry Gelloz are to blame. In a colorful, musical, and hilarious evening, they trace the life of Privy Councillor Goethe and dare to compare his era with today. One thing is clear: Everything was better in the old days. Back then, today was tomorrow, and yesterday was today – unimaginable today! The Weimar cabaret poses the important questions: Who is the modern Goethe? Why did the Privy Councillor fall on deaf ears with Beethoven? What would impress the literary giant more today – the artificial intelligence of machines or the natural stupidity of our fellow human beings? The two wordsmiths, Liebermann and Gelloz, tie their tongues in knots and strain your laugh muscles: Weimar with wit, cabaret with classics, Goethe with gags. Enjoy yourself royally! So then: headlights on — or to quote Goethe: "More light!"
