This year's "Goldene Henne" (Golden Hen) awards ceremony will take place on September 12th. The gala will once again take place at the Leipzig Trade Fair Center, in front of a large audience of approximately 4.500 spectators. A first: Germany's largest audience award, organized by MDR and SuperIllu, will be broadcast live on Das Erste. Previously, the TV broadcast took place on MDR television. The 2025 "Goldene Henne" is a production of MDR in cooperation with NDR and RBB.
In 1995, the "Goldene Henne" (Golden Hen), named after the legendary Berlin entertainer Helga Hahnemann, was established by SuperIllu to honor the achievements of East German artists after reunification. Today, the "Goldene Henne" is Germany's largest audience award. Last year, the major show was hosted by Florian Silbereisen and Barbara Schöneberger.
Tickets for the Goldene Henne 2025 will be available from May 16th.
