Student concert – “FILM-READY” – Blockbuster with the LSO

classical concert
The history of film music: A few bars of music from the blockbuster "Pirates of the Caribbean" and you immediately recognize the film. Or the film ends, but the music lingers, leaving images in our memory. Alongside all the bombastic visuals, the music should act as an anchor, offering the viewer familiar sounds and conveying profound emotions.
The course explores the history and impact of film music, introduces students to film composers, and delves into the musical aspects of diverse and well-known blockbusters such as "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," and "How to Train Your Dragon." Once students engage with the topic, they are often surprised by the significant role music plays in films.
