In improvisational theater, stories emerge in the magic of the moment – without a script, but with plenty of creativity, spontaneity, and team spirit. There's no script, only the unfettered reign of spontaneous imagination. In this form of theater, every piece and every scene will experience its first and last performance on this evening. We want to show you how hilariously funny, how exciting, and how touching improvisational theater can be – and how much more it can offer.
Our improv shows always consist of two halves: In the first, we present the audience with a long-form format. This means there's a series of scenes that are connected in some way. Sometimes they revolve around a theme you've inspired us with, sometimes they revolve around a story that runs throughout, sometimes they feature recurring characters. What all long-form shows have in common is that they allow for the full range of storytelling: breathless speed as well as calm depth, the absurdly funny as well as the surprisingly touching. Because there's no predetermined plan in improvisational theater, anything can happen.
After the break, things will get colorful, wild, and playful. Then we'll present you with a selection of popular improvisation games that ensembles all over the world use to delight their audiences. Have you always wanted to see a scene where no one is allowed to use the letter "E"? Or where the answer to every question has to be sung? Or where the audience controls the actors' bodies? Then the second half is the right place for you. Because that's exactly what we'll do and much more. Look forward to the absolute reign of creative chaos.
