With "Bilderkosmos #2," the Museum of Fine Arts Leipzig presents a comprehensive exhibition of 20th and 21st-century painting and sculpture. Nine gallery spaces and the central hall on the third floor feature both well-known works and long-unseen works from the museum's collection. The exhibition honors the contributions of Jewish artists such as Eduard Einschlag and Abraham Jaskiel, as well as international artists such as Getachew Yossef Hagoss. Particular attention is paid to the development of the Leipzig School and its significance for the city's identity. "Bilderkosmos #2" is on display until April 12, 2026.
The permanent exhibition of the MdbK includes over 4.600 paintings, 1.800 sculptures, medals and plaques, over 5.000 photographs and over 70.000 works on paper from seven centuries.
