Curly Strings – Make your wings and fly
Founded in 2012 by four folk music graduates, the Estonian band CURLY STRINGS has been captivating audiences ever since with their unique blend of folk, pop, classical, bluegrass, and punk. The award-winning band will be touring Germany, Switzerland, and Luxembourg in March 2026.
CURLY STRINGS – although they originally wanted to be anything but a classic folk band, they are now one of the most prominent voices in the Estonian folk scene. With their debut album "Üle ilma" (2014), they swept up four Estonian music awards, including Album of the Year. Just two years later, they received the international award of European Bluegrass Band of the Year.
Curly Strings have now released seven albums, toured Europe, Japan, and Canada, and even collaborated with symphony orchestras in Estonia and Germany. Their trademark: sincere vocals, fresh arrangements, and stories that resonate deeply even without knowledge of Estonian. Many concertgoers rave that Estonian sounds like Elvish and lends the music a special magic.
Their new EP “Make Your Wings and Fly” will be released on October 24, 2025, and will now be presented live for the first time – supplemented by highlights from over ten years of band history.
“Our music is meant to take people on a journey – sometimes to the vast forests of Estonia, sometimes to a kitchen table where people dance, sing, and laugh,” says singer Eeva Talsi. “Fans can look forward to concerts full of energy, intimacy, and emotional depth – an invitation to spread their wings together and take flight.”
