The scent of cookies, mulled wine, and Christmassy sounds fill the air around Eilenburg Town Hall. The Christmas market is traditionally opened by the Castle Association, with musical accompaniment by the Sprotta Brass Choir. Afterwards, the mayor and Santa Claus cut the Stollen together. Under the festively decorated linden trees, numerous stalls offering handmade items, Christmas decorations, and gift ideas invite visitors to browse. Sweet and savory treats provide moments of enjoyment, while younger guests can take a ride on the children's train. Special encounters are also planned: Santa Claus, his angel, and his elf visit the market every day and take time to listen to children's wishes during short consultations.
