Hubertusburg Palace rooms are filled with memories of people who ruled, hunted, celebrated, worked, but also suffered here.

This year, the exhibition focuses on the very eventful history of Hubertusburg Palace. As one of the largest buildings of the 18th century in Europe, splendidly furnished in the style of the Rococo, the castle later served as a military warehouse, earthenware factory, mental hospital, air force school and state hospital. Thus the castle was both a place of dreams and a place of nightmares. Visitors will be able to admire drawings by Karl Hans Janke (1909-1988), who, as a patient of the mental hospital, was far ahead of his time and brought bold technical inventions to paper in detail. The Sächsische Kunstsammlungen Dresden show historical and contemporary works of art and everyday testimonies of this long time. The rooms provide space for reflection and reflection on the very changing, often dramatic history, the present and the future of Hubertusburg Palace. The show will be framed by a diverse accompanying programme.
