This 13th-century fortified church houses one of Saxony's oldest organs. Built in 1671 by Gottfried Richter of Döbeln, it was reconstructed in 2006 by the Wegscheider organ workshop in Dresden. Both the sound concept and the facade and case design correspond to those of a Renaissance organ. The instrument has a short octave (manual and pedal), is tuned to the choir pitch, and is tuned to a mean tone (1/4 comma). This instrument is capable of authentically reproducing organ works of the Renaissance and early Baroque periods.
