For 75 years, the works of Johann Sebastian Bach and his family have been systematically collected and researched at the Bach Archive in Leipzig. The anniversary exhibition introduces the fascinating world of Bach research: from the unusual success story of the New Bach Edition, which was jointly developed at the Bach Archive in Leipzig (GDR) and the Johann Sebastian Bach Institute in Göttingen (FRG), to the groundbreaking methods of paper and scribe research and the use of artificial intelligence in current research.

The exhibits include valuable musical manuscripts by Johann Sebastian Bach and his sons, as well as an original punch card system for identifying scribes. Numerous sound examples, interactive elements and media stations invite you to delve deeper and experiment.
