19th Leipzig Street Theatre Days

Family/children

From June 24th to 27th, 2026, Leipzig will once again transform into a giant open-air stage. When Knalltheater and LATS e.V. host the 19th Leipzig Street Theatre Days, everyday life gives way to pure creativity. This year's special feature: the festival will move through the city's neighborhoods, bringing art directly to the doorsteps of Leipzig residents. The festivities kick off on Wednesday (June 24.06th) in the east: between 16:00 and 18:00 pm, Eisenbahnstraße will be enlivened with quirky walking acts and spontaneous performances. On Thursday (June 25.06th), the procession moves westward to transform Karl-Heine-Straße into a vibrant mile of theatre and interaction. On Friday (June 26.06th), the festival returns to its roots, taking over Petersstraße in the city center. Here, the hustle and bustle of shopping and theatrical art merge into a unique experience for passersby and fans alike. The grand finale takes place on Saturday (June 27.06th) in Clara-Zetkin-Park. From 11:00 AM onwards, the meadow belongs to families with a colorful children's program. The absolute highlight follows at 15:00 PM near the Sachsenbrücke bridge: the legendary Leipzig Football Theatre World Cup (LeFuT). Here, sporting ambition meets theatrical madness – a spectacle where fouls are often choreographed and goals are celebrated with dramatic monologues. As always, admission is free; the art thrives on the enthusiasm of the audience and the donations collected at the end.
