HAMLET – The True Story
The True Story of Hamlet
“Time is out of joint.”
Who doesn't know him – Hamlet, the famous Danish prince, who is obligated to avenge his father, murdered by his uncle… but doesn't dare. Shakespeare's tragedy ends with eight deaths and the famous "The rest is silence." But what if things weren't quite as we believe?
Horatio, Hamlet's loyal friend and the sole survivor, steps out of the shadows and tells us his version of the story. An experiment meant to change everything: no bloodbath, no war—instead, a vision of peace, a peaceful revolution that Hamlet was to lead. But what happens when old power structures and revolution clash? When personal ties collide with politics?
This captivating solo performance deconstructs the familiar elements of Hamlet, taking us on a moving journey filled with intrigue, dreams, and love – a journey between friendship, cunning, and the eternal conflict between peace and violence. Horatio addresses the timeless questions of truth and power, showing us how these still resonate with us today.
He makes us laugh, marvel, and pause – and at the same time brings us closer to the question that burns then as it does today: What do you do when everything is at stake?
