LEIPZIG GOSPEL SINGERS & BAND

Our initially small choir brought over 10 years of gospel experience with us when we restarted in September 2022 – with our new choir director, Erik Emanuel Wohlrab, in our new home, the Pavilion of Hope, on a new rehearsal day – and with a surprisingly large number of new singers. We currently have 60-70 members; we are interdenominational and warmly welcome anyone interested. Our band is an integral part of the choir and also accompanies our weekly rehearsals.

The Leipzig Gospel Singers' program features diverse and captivating authentic contemporary Black gospel songs with elements of pop, jazz, and funk. Each song in the repertoire is specially arranged for our choir by our conductor, Erik.

The Good News expressed in our songs – Gospel translates as "Gospel" – is currently shared primarily in churches in Leipzig and the surrounding area. A particular highlight is our annual choir trip to the island of Rügen, combined with concerts and church services there.
