Gabriele Sperlich / The artist, born in Dessau in 1961, now lives in Leipzig. After graduating from high school and completing an apprenticeship as a library assistant, she studied at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig (HGB) from 1987 to 1993, under teachers including Dietrich Burger and Günther
Thiele and Arno Rink. Since 1996 she has worked freelance in Leipzig and is a founding member of Hoch und Partner / Galerie.
and workshop for woodcut and relief printing in Leipzig. From 2008 to 2017, she worked as a lecturer at the Leipzig Summer Academy. Her abstract works are characterized by a wide range of colors and a collage-like effect. She has participated in numerous exhibitions.
She has participated in exhibitions both at home and abroad – her works can be found in museums, public and private collections.
