Swim + Run
route description
Original
It's incredibly simple: swim across the lake and back and then walk around.
Also as a relay – one swims and one runs
In the original, after a mass start, the swimmers swim across the lake into the Markranstädter Buch. Then they go ashore for a short time and swim back. In the transition area, they change their swimming clothes for their running clothes and then run around the lake once in an anti-clockwise direction. The finish line is on the meadow above the starting area.
Mini
In the Mini, you swim past a chain of buoys and back to the shore. Then you swap your swimming gear for running gear in the transition area and run a return route along the lake. The finish line is on the meadow above the starting area.
SwimRun
The SwimRun is a non-stop competition without a transition zone or changing facilities. You start the swim the way you want to finish the run. There is no opportunity to put things down or pick them up. Anything that you can carry and put on is allowed. Neoprene, hand boards, shoes, fins... everything is allowed.
The first swimming distance is 600 m, followed by a first running distance of 3 km, then another swimming distance of 600 m and the final run of 3 km.
The finish line is on the meadow above the starting area.
