In the north-east of Saxony, between Leipzig and Dresden, lies the impressive Saxon Heathland, which is particularly characterized by the alternation of shady forest areas and open heathlands.

The area of ​​the Saxon Heathland include the municipalities of Bad Düben, Belgern-Schildau, Cavertitz, Dahlen, Doberschütz, Dommitzsch, Eilenburg, Mügeln, Naundorf, Oschatz, Torgau, Trossin and Wermsdorf.

The Saxon Heathland borders to the north with the Dübener Heide Nature Park bordering Saxony-Anhalt, stretches across the Dahlen Heath to the Elbe and touches Saxony’s largest fruit growing area, the Saxon Fruit Land. In the midst of a lush green landscape, charming villages, lovingly restored windmills and charming citieswaiting to be explored.

Here the hour strikes differently

The spa town of Bad Düben is considered the gateway to the Düben Heath and is framed by the heathland of the same name and the floodplain landscape of the Mulde, which meanders along the western edge of the town towards Goitzsche and Mulde Reservoir.

Rolandstadt Belgern & Gneisenstadt Schildau

Belgern-Schildau was created from the merger of the Rolandstadt Belgern and the Gneisenaustadt Schildau. The town is located between the Elbe River and the Dahlener Heide and is a few kilometers south of Torgau.

The small community of Naundorf near Oschatz offers a quiet and green place to stay for leisure and active guests.
