The themed cycle paths include exciting topics such as the landscape change of the region on the COAL | STEAM | LIGHT | LAKES cycle route or a refreshingly fruity change in Saxony's largest fruit growing area on the Obstland cycle route

A popular destination for cyclists is the Leipzig Neuseenland, which is connected to the Neuseenland cycle route one thing is certain: lakes as far as the eye can see. Cooling off on hot summer days is therefore a must.

The Mulde Cycle Path

Experience art, culture and crafts

The trough consists of the arms of the Freiberger, and Zwickauer Mulde, which flow together in Sermuth and form the Vereinigte Mulde Here we present a few culturally rich sections of the Mulde cycle path. The start and end points of the tours can always be reached by train.

Especially around Leisnig, Colditz and Grimma there are many castles, palaces and monasteries But children also get their money’s worth – Playgrounds, ferries and mills provide the basis for a varied family experience - with or without a bike.

node systems
in the Leipzig region

What is a node?
You can see them from a distance: large green number prisms trons on the wayposts on the cycle path. They form a network with their neighbouring points Guidance, in addition to the thematic cycle routes.

What are the advantages of the cycle network?
A pleasant bike tour starts with good signage. The cycle network offers the advantage of not having to remember complicated place names. You simply cycle from one number to the next. This means that a cycle route can be put together individually as desired.

Where does the node system already exist?
In the LEIPZIG REGION there are 2 independent node systems:

  • im Leipzig Neuseenland
  • im Wurzener Land
