Botanical Garden

Some 3 hectares of exotic plants from different vegetation zones are at home in the University of Leipzig's Botanical Garden. The botanical garden, the greenhouses, the fragrance and touch garden and the large open space encourage you to take a long walk and discover tropical plants. More than 100 different species of butterflies can be observed in close proximity in the Butterfly House - a very special highlight. The Botanical Garden also houses Germany's only Victoria House, which is home to the giant tropical water lily. Educational trails, butterfly tours, workshops and exhibitions make a visit to one of the oldest botanical gardens in Germany a very special experience.
