Art Deco coffee house from 1930
The Café Grundmann has been run without interruption by master confectioners, who give the café its name, since 1919. In 1998-2000 the café was thoroughly restored and today it is one of the few coffee houses in the German-speaking world with a completely preserved Art Deco style.
Since its inception, it has had great cultural significance thanks to its various well-known regulars' tables, readings, legendary chansons and jazz evenings. There are 100 seats in the café and 50 outdoors seats when the weather is fine.
