PANOMETER LEIPZIG LeipzigCard RegioCard
The world's largest 360° panorama
In the Panometer (a play on the words "Panorama" and "Gasometer") you can immerse yourself in strange and fascinating worlds. The former Gasometer II dating back to 1910 is located in the south of Leipzig and has housed the 360° panoramas erected by the artist Yadegar Asisi since 2003. At a height of 32 metres and a circumference of 110 metres, the Panometer Leipzig immerses you in the largest 360° panoramas in the world and gives you the feeling of being part of this spectacular atmosphere.
Round pictures like EVEREST, LEIPZIG 1813 or the GREAT BARRIER REEF inspired the public millions of times. From the 15-metre-high visitor tower on the inside, the respective panorama scenery reveals itself on a scale of 1:1. The realistic experience is supported by 15-minute day and night variations, which are simulated acoustically with background music and noises as well as various light effects. The accompanying exhibitions provide a preliminary insight into the current topic. At the end, a making-of film explains the history of Yadegar Asisi's panoramas.
The panoramas and the associated exhibitions are also exciting for children.
Currently the panorama "CAROLAS GARTEN" - Heaven on Earth" can be seen in the Panometer Leipzig.
Note: Free parking spaces for cars and buses are available as well as a small shop and a café.
