Our city unfolds a very special charm at night, which can be enjoyed in a unique way from the waterside.
The tour starts in Leipzig's city harbor. We are just a few minutes' walk from the city center and our central location in Leipzig's water system makes us the perfect starting point for exploration tours. When you arrive, you will meet your guide and receive a detailed introduction to paddling technique and safety aspects.
Then we climb into the canoes equipped with oil torches. From the city harbor we sail past the villa of the famous Baedeker publishing family and the imposing Palmgarten weir onto the city Elster. Here we follow the river through the western districts of Schleußig and Plagwitz and pass the Villa Dr. Carl Heines and Mey & Edlich, Germany's oldest mail order company still in operation. Then we reach the Buntgarnwerke. The numerous windows of the former factory building bathe the Elster section in an almost magical light. Since the daily paddling traffic is over at these times, a unique silence can be enjoyed on the rivers. After we have filmed at the Stelzenhaus, we head back to the city harbor.
Your clothing should be weather-appropriate and suitable for paddling. A few drops of water may land on your clothes. Depending on the temperature, we also recommend a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water. Please arrive at the counter, Schreberstraße 20, 30 minutes before the start of your experience.
