This beautiful circular tour shows Leipzig from its natural side and also conveys the charm of the historic industrial architecture on the water. The medium-length route is easy for beginners to manage and also offers one or two challenges for paddlers with more experience.

The tour starts in the Leipzig city harbor. We are just a few minutes' walk from the city center and our central location in the Leipzig water system makes us the perfect starting point for exploration tours. When you arrive, you will meet your guide and receive a detailed introduction to paddling technique and safety aspects.

From the city harbor, we head past the villa of the famous Baedeker publishing family and the impressive Palmgarten weir onto the Elster flood bed. We paddle along Leipzig's largest park, the Clara Zetkin Park, to the Scheibenholz racecourse. After the Leipziger Eck, we continue to the Leipzig Canoe Club, the club of canoe slalom world champions Andrea Herzog and Franz Anton. Here, the boats have to be carried a short distance. After we have passed the canoeists' training course, we follow the White Elster back into the city. Here we pass the Buntgarnwerke, among other things, and finally reach the city harbor again.

After your return, we recommend a refreshing drink at our beach bar as the perfect end to an eventful tour.

We recommend clothing that is weather-appropriate and suitable for paddling. A few drops of water may land on your clothing, so please take this into account. In very hot temperatures, we recommend wearing a hat, sunscreen and plenty of water. Otherwise, all you need to bring is a good paddling mood.
