Observation tower in Jutta-Park, Grimma
Romantic nature park
The romantic nature park between Grimma and Höfgen is set above a steeply rising porphyry cliff by the bank of the water. Jutta Ida Gleisberg drew inspiration for the park around 1900, from the English nature parks and Italian gardens of the time. From the observation tower, visitors' line of vision is directed over Kastanienallee through to the Cistercian convent, Marienthron in Nimbschen, which is located directly opposite, on the other side of the river, and which can be accessed by means of the manually-operated passenger ferry. In addition, historic water features, sculptures and sound installations can be found in the park.
