The Japanese House
The Japanese House was founded in 2011, in the then-vacant premises of Eisenbahnstraße 113b by a group of Japanese architects, artists, city designers and students of Japanese studies from the University of Leipzig. The project's creators wanted to establish a meeting place for events and the mediation of Japanese culture. The idea quickly took off and today the Japanese House is a popular meeting place in the east of Leipzig. Here, among other things, people cook, eat, discuss and learn together. Today it is no longer only about Japanese culture but about interaction between people in the city. Both neighbours and cultures meet in the Japanese House.
