It was probably originally a Romanesque building. In 1722, with the inclusion of older components, a new as an aisle-less church building emerged. A magnificently carved pulpit altar with side passageways and an equally well-carved baptismal font characterise the choir room. On the north side is the Patronatsloge (patronage box) with two coats of arms representing the Fullen family. The organ of Gottfried Hildebrandt stands on the west side of the three-sided gallery. The west tower with baroque dome and lantern formation is visible from afar.

Zacharias Hildebrandt (1688 - 1757) was a companion of Gottfried Silbermann (1683-1753) from 1713 to 1722. Self-employed from 1722/23, the contract for the construction of the Störmthaler organ was signed in 1722 between him and the patron Hilmar Statz of Fullen. On 2 November 1723, Johann Sebastian Bach examined the organ and "recognised and praised it greatly." I / 14th Hildebrandt took over the responsibility for the care and maintenance up until 1754. Until 1905 there were several repairs and changes to the organ. After repair work in 1934 and 1974, the Hermann Eule Orgelbau, Bautzen carried out fundamental restoration and reconstruction work in 2008 in order to capture the condition of the organ back in 1723.
