Galerie für zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig (Gallery for Contemporary Art)
Together the beautiful Gründerzeit style villa in Leipzig's music district and an adjoining modern glass building form the premises of the Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst -GfzK (Gallery for Contemporary Art). The GfzK opened in 1998 and shows art from after 1945 and contemporary art. In addition to the numerous works in permanent and temporary exhibitions, the museum also includes the Café Bau Bau and the "Paris Syndrom" hotel. So how about combining a visit to the museum with a bite to eat in the café, which is particularly popular with students at the nearby Academy of Visual Arts (HGB)? The overnight stay in one of the extraordinary hotel rooms, which themselves look like walk-in works of art, makes the experience perfect. In addition to various guided tours, the GfzK also offers great opportunities for art education for children.
