The historical water mill, located immediately next to the spa park, was first documented in 1434. The water wheel not only used to propel the milling gear, but also the oil mill, the fulling mill and the cutting gear. For over 500 years, the "obyrmol" (old German: central mill) supported its millers until the end of the 1940s when it was closed down. Today, the Society of the Düben Heath Museum Village uses and operates the green courtyard of the mill. The farm-like grounds with gardens, a barn and old agricultural machinery brings back the former life to the timber-framed structures. An oven, modelled on historical examples, delivers exquisite bread that must be tasted.
