Passenger shipping in Leipzig's New Lake District offers scheduled, round and on-demand cruises from April to October on Lake Markkleeberg or with canal passage and sluicing to Lake Störmthal. Also possible are special trips on the occasions of family, company, Christmas or wedding parties.
The "FMS Wachau" can accommodate a total of 130 passengers. During the high season it travels twice a day (except Fridays) from the lake promenade of Lake Markkleeberg through the canal with sluice to Lake Störmthal to the harbour of the holiday resort "Lagovida" and back. There are possibilities to board or disembark at seven different berths during the course of the 3-hour boat trip.
The "FMS Markkleeberg" is the larger of the two passenger ships and can accommodate up to 400 passengers. From May to October the tour goes several times a day (except Mondays) over Lake Markkleeberg. The round trip between Seepromenade and Auenhainer Bucht takes 1 hour.
The two passenger ships were built according to the latest technology and the high environmental requirements of the Leipzig New Lake District. They are wheelchair accessible and feature air conditioning and heating. As "Kopflander", it is possible to step on and off the boat at any landing stage. Bicycles can also be transported. The varied on-board catering takes care of your physical well-being.
