Castle
old manor house in baroque style, castle park with the oldest tulip tree in Saxony
In 1744/51, Count Heinrich von Bünau had the baroque castle and the outbuildings built. From 1852 to 1945, it was owned by the Sahrer von Sahr family. After it was expropriated by the GDR, it was used as a children's holiday camp and a police school, among other things. On March 20, 1973, the Dahlen castle burned down due to an old, defective stove pipe connection. The ruins were supposed to be demolished in 1989.

In 1990/94, the first clearing work began and ceramic ceilings with temporary cardboard coverings were installed. From 2005 to 2008, the castle was used by a castle GbR, which began security and clearing work and held commercial events. Since 2009, the Dahlen Castle and Park Association has been trying to protect Dahlen Castle from decay.

Im Castle Park The oldest tulip tree in Saxony can be seen.
