Peace room "Altranstädter Friede 1706", art gallery, sales exhibitions, guided tours, pewter figure cabinet, wedding room.

Altranstädt Castle was built around 1200 as a monastery estate by Cistercian monks. The three-winged complex was built at the end of the 16th and beginning of the 17th century. It had several owners, most recently the von Hohenthal family (until 1945).

On September 24, 1706, the so-called "Altranstädt Peace" between the Swedish King Charles XII and the Saxon Elector Augustus the Strong made European history. The largely original "Peace Room" in the castle still bears witness to this event today. It also commemorates the "Altranstädt Convention" one year later. Today, Altranstädt is one of the most historically interesting places in Saxony.

A lot is also planned for the future, such as the establishment of a Swedish-Polish-German meeting place. The "Förderverein Schloss Altranstädt" (Altranstädt Castle Support Association) is committed to this and to the gradual renovation of the buildings and is always happy to hear from interested parties.

Some rooms and the vaulted room on the ground floor of the castle can be used for celebrations and parties of all kinds, events and seminars.

: The family-friendly tour around Markranstädt runs for around 4 km through the town, the poplar forest and along Lake Kulkwitz.
