The park railway runs on a loop around the adjoining Auensee from April to October. The most exciting part: the train is always run by the kids themselves!
Since the 5 August 1951, the park railway has run on a 1.9-kilometre stretch around Lake Auensee. In addition to the main station, there are three other stops: Gustav Esche Straße, Haus Auensee and Elsteraue.
Every year from the beginning of April to the end of October, it runs on weekdays as well as on Sundays and public holidays and and all operations are carried out by youngsters in their free time. The station also offers bicycle and sports equipment rentals during opening hours, and a small snack bar with outdoor seating is part of the station.
