Visitors of all ages can discover the native nature of the Leipzig floodplain forest and the Burgaue nature reserve by visiting the Auwaldstadtion The Auwaldstation is a place of education and exchange with a wide range of information on nature topics, excursions, hikes, workshops and creative workshops.

Ursprünglich wurde das Gebäude im 19. von der Familie Speck von Sternburg als Wirtschaftsgebäude erbaut. Since then it once housed a carpenter's workshop before opening in 1998 as what is now a popular nature education centre. Thanks to its location on the White Elster and the beautiful castle park, the floodplain forest station at Lützschena Castle is an ideal starting point for nature experiences of all kinds.
