It looks as good as new, but is already remarkably old: in 1840, the Windmill of Düben was built north of Leipzig. Gable mills were often simple constructions and could be relocated according to need. Up to 70 percent of historical windmills were put back into use after their reconstruction and restoration. The mill technology has still been completely retained and is functional. The Society of the Museum town Dübener Heide, thanks to the support of public and private financiers, gave the mill in Bad Düben a bright future.
