Botanical Garden

Short facts

With its more than 400 years of history, the Botanical Garden in Leipzig is the oldest of its kind in the whole of Germany.

The Botanical Garden of the University of Leipzig unites plants from the most diverse vegetation zones of the earth over an area of about three hectares. This includes the pharmacist garden, the greenhouses, the fragrance and touch garden as well as the open space.

A special highlight is the butterfly house, where you can experience butterflies in near-natural surroundings and at close range.
