The Nepperwitz church, a building dating from around 1500, has combined historical and modern elements since 2006;

 During renovation work in 1974, forgotten paintings from the 17th century depicting biblical scenes were discovered under several layers of paint and restored. An old pulpit was replaced by a colorful pulpit from the 16th century. In 2006, a new winged altar by the artist Michael Fischer-Art was installed. The altar attracts pilgrims and visitors every year.
