Mountain climbing in the middle of the city? This is possible at the climbing rock in the Leipzig district of Grünau. The 21-meter-high climbing rock was built from demolished concrete slabs from GDR high-rise buildings and offers both professional climbers and beginners 30 climbing routes of various levels of difficulty. At a height of around 3 meters, you can boulder on the climbing rock. Thanks to modeled cracks and coloring, the climbing rock blends naturally into its surroundings. The climbing rock is also used by the Leipzig section of the German Alpine Association for training its children, youth and adult groups.

The day ticket is just a simple authorization card that does not work with the electric door lock, so someone with an annual ticket is still needed to open the door!
