In order to meet the demand for larger theaters in the south of Leipzig at the time, a society house with adjoining restaurants, the Gildensaal and a cellar, which was used as a cabaret from the 1930s onwards, was built on the site between Braustraße and today's Karl-Liebnecht-Straße.
